Our Eyes on the Slough volunteer monitoring project was created to help the Watershed Council keep an eye on the health of the Slough.

Eyes on the Slough Volunteer Monitors paddle a designated section of the slough on a monthly basis. Monitors create reports on wildlife, habitat, and water quality, which make up the only regular data collected on the entire Slough.

Eyes on the Slough Objectives :
  1. Create a consistent positive presence on the slough's waterways.
  2. Watch for natural and unnatural obstructions, bank changes, development impacts, and illegal discharges.
  3. Gather data on native plants, invasive plants, and wildlife usage (including humans!).
  4. Gather data on seasonal hydrological change in the Slough.
  5. Create a vision for your reach of the slough!

Eyes on the Slough Today :
We are planning for the quarterly Eyes on the Slough training which will be held in late October. Stay tuned for an official notice, or contact Jesse Rosenbluth at volunteer@columbiaslough.org if you are interested in joining Eyes on the Slough.
