Covering the last year of CSWC’s accomplishments, this report reviews our program areas and how we have worked toward our mission to protect and enhance the Columbia Slough over the last year.
A few highlights include:
The Community Events program hosted 99 free events engaging 1,887 participants!
Explorando, planned in partnership with the Latine community, welcomed over 120 participants to Whitaker Ponds on July 20, 2023.
The Stewardship Program isntalled 5,034 native plants over 25 acres of habitat and worked with 572 volunteers!
The Slough School Education Program delivered 268 free programs, including 159 classroom lessons and 60 watershed field trips.
Slough Science, a monthly educational speaker series, engaged 243 participants.
Our Volunteer Program engaged 36 Paddle Team Volunteers, who helped deliver paddles for over 600 participants! 20 of our Paddle Team Volunteers were part of the Bilingual Paddle Team, speaking either Spanish, Ukrainian, or Russian.
Out Trash Cleanup events removed 38.6 tons of trash from the Slough, including 94 tires!
