Since 1994, the Columbia Slough Watershed Council has been bringing community together to discover, learn, and restore the 60 miles of waterways and wetlands known as the Columbia Slough Watershed. We engage people from all walks of life in habitat restoration, outdoor recreation, and environmental education, empowering each other to steward and protect the land we call home. From biking and birding to canoeing and clean-ups, the Slough has something for everyone.

Together, we can make this hidden gem shine.

How will my donation make a difference?

There are many ways to give to our mission, and every dollar donated makes it possible for the Columbia Slough Watershed Council to continue engaging community members in learning, recreating, and restoring our land and waterways. In 2019, our generous donors made it possible to:

  • Restore 5,400 feet of stream banks

  • Connect 7,000 kids to their watershed through Slough School education efforts

  • Host more than 20 free community engagement events and festivals

From $5 to $5,000, every gift matters. Here are a few ways your donation can serve our mission:

  • $5 - Plant two trees along the Slough.

  • $10 - Provide hot coffee to 12 cold volunteers.

  • $20 - Supply two children with rain boots on a field trip.

  • $30 - Purchase 4 shovels for planting trees.

  • $60 - Gift one tank of gas for our Slough Truck, which we use to haul boats and restoration tools.

  • $100 - Rent one bus to take 40 children on a field trip to the Slough.

  • $250 - Pay for four loads of garbage to be removed from our waterways and taken to the dump.

  • $500 - Take 28 children on a canoe ride along the Slough.

Not sure how much to give? Consider a monthly contribution--our monthly giving program is a great way to ensure that our staff can continue to offer effective resources, programs, and services to our community.
