Join People of Color Outdoors (POCO) and Columbia Slough Watershed Council for a paddle at Whitaker Ponds Nature Park in NE Portland! This free event is exclusively for BIPOC community members.

Things to Bring:  Water, comfy clothes (we recommend dressing in layers), and any snacks you might need. Please leave large bags and backpacks at home. All equipment, canoes, paddles, life vests, dry bags, light snacks, and cold drinks will be provided at no charge.

Getting There: We’ll meet at Whitaker Ponds, parking is free. Our staff and volunteers will be available to check you in at the boat launch. Taking public transportation? Bus #75 stops at NE 47th Ave and Columbia Blvd. Walk north on NE 47th Ave about 0.25 miles, and Whitaker Ponds Nature Park will be on your right.

Accessibility: A porta potty is available. Previous paddling experience is not required. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the canoe launch, part of it on an uneven gravel path.
