Join Columbia Slough Watershed Council, Pacific Habitat Services, and local bird walk leaders Ryan Gilpin and Thomas Meinzen, for a free Birding & Mitigation walk at Broadmoor’s Natural Space. This site, once a golf course, is now a protected wetland providing habitat for wildlife. A space typically closed to public access, will be open for the group to bird, learn about mitigation practices, and explore!

What to bring: Please dress for the weather. Boots and pants are encouraged. Pack along water, binoculars, bug spray, and warm layers. Walking sticks may be useful if desired. Snacks, drinks, and extra binoculars will be available.

Getting There: Follow directions to 7448 NE 47th Ave, Portland, OR 97218. The turn into Broadmoor will be before the Fedex Distribution center. Look for Columbia Slough Event Signs. Please try your best to arrive on time - once the event starts, we will be closing the access gate.

Public Transportation: Bus #75 drops you off on the corner of 47th ave and Cornfoot.

Accessibility: This walk will include moderately rugged terrain, including walking through fields, shrubbery, and some off trail spaces with a ~5-15% incline. There is no restroom on site.
