Join Columbia Slough Watershed Council and make your very own apple cider! Whitaker Ponds has apple trees with an abundance of apples ready to be sourced. We can accept gifts from the trees that were planted here by earlier people and share those gifts with others! Using fruit pickers to pick apples from 2 different trees (and learning how to make your own with a plastic bottle!) AND use a cider press to get amazing cider to take home! This is an all ages event. Anyone under 16, must be accompanied by an adult.
Getting There: We will meet at Whitaker Ponds. Free parking is available.
Taking public transportation? Bus #75 stops at NE 47th Ave and Columbia Blvd. Walk north on NE 47th Ave about 0.25 miles, and Whitaker Ponds Nature Park will be on your right.
What to bring: Bring yourself and clothes that can be moved in! Dress for the weather. If you have a fruit picker, please bring it!
Accessibility: A porta potty is available. Expect sun exposure. Gravel/paved path around the ponds. No elevation change.
