Slough School Field Trips

Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity connecting youth to natural areas in their community?

Columbia Slough Watershed Council welcomes volunteers who have experience with groups of K-12 youth in the outdoors. It is essential that students have a safe and positive experience in nature as they make connections to what they are learning about in the classroom. Slough School prioritizes working with Title 1 schools. We work with youth who speak many languages especially Spanish and Slavic. Any non-english language skills will be welcomed. Please, be mindful of the power dynamics of race and class.

As a volunteer, we ask that you center youth dignity while positively engaging students from backgrounds that may differ from your own. You will not be responsible for behavior management as you lead or support activities.
